Privacy policy

Last updated 17 October 2026

This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, and what rights you have. [Have this reviewed before launch]

Who we are

Thai Savings Guide is run by [legal business name], [business address]. We are the data controller for the information described here. Contact: hello@thaisavingsguide.com.

What we collect and why

When you buy the guide

Purchases are handled by Gumroad, which acts as the seller of record. Gumroad collects your payment details; we never see your card number. Gumroad shares your name and email address with us so we can deliver the guide, send updates to it and answer questions about your order. Lawful basis: performing our contract with you.

When you join the email list

If you sign up, we store your email address with our email provider, Mailchimp (Intuit), to send the fortnightly email. Lawful basis: your consent. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and you can withdraw consent at any time.

When you email us

We keep your message and email address so we can reply. Lawful basis: our legitimate interest in answering you.

When you visit the site

Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, keeps standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested) for security and to keep the site running. Lawful basis: legitimate interests. [Add analytics details here if you install analytics]

The site remembers your chosen currency and the yearly or monthly view in your own browser's storage. This stays on your device and isn't sent to us.

Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser connects to Google's servers and shares your IP address with Google.

Who we share it with

  • Gumroad, for payments and delivery
  • Mailchimp (Intuit), for the email list
  • Cloudflare, which hosts the site

We don't sell your information. Some of these providers are based outside the UK, including in the United States. Where that happens, they protect your data with safeguards recognised under UK law.

How long we keep it

  • Purchase records: as long as needed for tax and accounting, normally six years
  • Email list: until you unsubscribe
  • Emails to us: up to two years after our last reply

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask to see, correct or delete your information, object to how we use it, restrict it, or receive a copy. Email hello@thaisavingsguide.com. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
